(Senior) Business Development Manager – CRO

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Senior Business Development Manager to spearhead new client acquisition and drive revenue growth. This role is ideal for a proactive business hunter with a strong background in sales and business development within the CRO industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic partnerships, and expanding our client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, target, and acquire new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical, biotech and nutraceutical sectors.
- Develop and execute sales strategies to generate leads, qualify prospects and close deals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, including R&D and regulatory heads, innovation leaders and C-suite executives.
- Drive the full sales cycle from prospecting and proposal development to contract negotiation and deal closure.
- Collaborate with internal teams (scientific, operations, marketing) to tailor service offerings to client needs.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events and trade shows to promote services and build brand awareness.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes and competitive landscapes to identify potential business opportunities.
- Meet and exceed sales targets and revenue growth objectives.
- Maintain accurate sales records and reports using CRM tools.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Life Sciences, Business or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in business development, innovation management or a similar role within a CRO, biotech, pharmaceutical or nutraceutical company.
- Proven track record of generating new business, achieving sales targets and closing high-value deals.
- Strong network within the life sciences industry with established contacts in pharma, biotech or nutraceuticals.
- Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently with a strong sense of initiative and self-motivation.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, conferences and industry events.
